Diploma of Fitness
This course will provide you with the skills and knowledge to work and register as a specialist exercise trainer within the fitness industry. You will be able to work collaboratively with medical and allied health professionals in a broad range of settings such as fitness facilities, aquatic facilities, community facilities and in open spaces. You could be expected to provide exercise training to individual clients with specific needs on a one-on-one or group basis. Clients may include older clients and children with chronic conditions.
You will be able to apply knowledge of physiology, anatomy and the pathology of specific medical conditions to implement, evaluate and modify, as agreed, the exercise prescription provided by medical or allied health professionals for clients with specific conditions.
Certificate 4 in Fitness
This course provides you with the skills and knowledge to register and work as an exercise trainer in fitness centres, gyms, pools, community facilities and in open spaces. You will learn to work independently, on a one-on-one basis, with individual clients, including older clients and children.
You will learn to monitor and manage fitness business activities and to operate a business efficiently and profitably.
Certificate 3 in Fitness
This course provides you with the skills and knowledge to register and work as an exercise instructor in gyms, fitness facilities, pools, community facilities and in outdoor environments.
Depending on the electives chosen you could learn to provide exercise instruction for groups and aqua or gym programs.
Certificate 4 in Fitness includes Certificate 3 in Fitness (19647)
This course provides you with the skills and knowledge to register and work as an exercise trainer in fitness centres, gyms, pools, community facilities and in open spaces. You will learn to work independently, on a one-on-one basis, with individual clients, including older clients and children.
You will learn to monitor and manage fitness business activities and to operate a business efficiently and profitably.
Certificate 4 in Outdoor Recreation
Depending on the specialisations chosen, this qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in guiding outdoor recreation activities in an uncontrolled environment, or instructing outdoor recreation skills.
Certificate 3 in Outdoor Recreation
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in guiding outdoor recreation activities in a controlled environment. It requires technical knowledge of the outdoor recreation activity to be transferred to allow individuals to safely participate in the outdoor activity.
Diploma of Sport and Recreation Administration
This course provides you with the skills and knowledge to work in an administrative or organisational capacity in locations such as fitness centres, outdoor sporting grounds or complexes and aquatic centres. You will learn to independently manage the ancillary functions required to ensure the effective provision of specific sport and recreation services and programs.
