Awards winner!

The prestigious Premier's International Student of the Year Award – Schools has been awarded to Mingjun (Martina) ZHANG, who is studying at Killarney Heights High School – a NSW government school.

The International Student of the Year Awards celebrate the contribution international students make to both the international student community and the broader NSW community and recognise excellence in their community engagement efforts.

NSW government schools had two finalists – Mingjun (Martina) Zhang and Ruiqin (Tommy) Miao, who is studying at James Cook Boys Technology High School. Both of them were nominated for outstanding contributions to their school community through leadership and volunteer work to promote cross cultural understanding.The International Student of the Year Award was also jointly awarded to two NSW Government Schools students in 2013.
