Certificate and Diploma courses

All courses offered by TAFE NSW Institutes are nationally recognised through the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)

TAFE NSW Institutes offer a range of nationally recognised qualifications including Certificates, Diplomas and Advanced Diploma courses.

Nationally recognised qualifications measure up to rigorous national standards, and ensure that employers and training organisations throughout Australia understand what a particular qualification means, what you've learnt and what your skills are.

Courses generally form a study pathway to higher levels to give you the opportunity to reach your academic goals faster.

How to apply for a course

To apply for a TAFE NSW course, follow the steps below.

Before you apply

Make sure that your academic results and English level meet the entry requirements for your selected course.

Some courses have a prerequisite (previous course) as an entry requirement. If you do not meet the academic requirements, you might like to consider a lower level course (for example, a Certificate course instead of a Diploma course).

If you do not meet the English competency requirements, you can choose to study intensive English at a TAFE NSW English Language Centre before you start your course.

How to apply

Complete an application

You can apply online or download, complete and sign an application form – a parent must sign the application form if you are under 18 years of age.

Agent search

DEC International has a worldwide network of representative agents who can help you complete and submit your application to study.

These representatives must provide you with accurate and up-to date information and advice regarding programs, courses, application procedures, living and studying in Australia. They can also assist with your visa application. If you wish to apply through an agent it is recommended that you use an agent on this list. If you choose to use another agent who is not published on this list, then TAFE NSW is not responsible for the accuracy of the advice provided to you.

TAFE NSW English Language Centre agents

TAFE NSW English Language Centres also engage agent representatives and details of these agents can be found on the English Language pages for each of the listed Institutes. These agents may recruit students for intensive English language courses but not for any other courses at TAFE NSW.

If you have any concerns with regard to the service provided by our agent representatives, please contact us.
